My year started off great, in January I met my half sister Kim, we had met for lunch. Im unsure of the place we first dined at. I think it was Golden Corral. We had a great time and we have met a few times since then. 🙂 Her and her husband moved to Salt Lake after he received a job offer.
SIDE NOTE: I got my tax return as well as won my first Superbowl bet from a split of a $55 bet on a square. I won $700 (whole jackpot was $1400) and my tax return which is a 4 digit number as well. 😉 I was doing pretty good! lol!
Then, in February I had emergency appendicitis surgery and had to stay in the hospital for a few days. It was kind of eye opening experience for me. I had worked 15 years of my life and I was ready for a change. After I was out on sick leave for a couple of weeks, I went back to work and hated it more than I ever did before.
My home life changed too. I moved back in with my parents a few years ago after a bad breakup and since they both lost their jobs because of the economy they decided to train to become over the road truck drivers.
At the end of February, when I was back at work, I decided I wanted to quit my job and work from home. So March 23rd was my last day that I had worked at for 6 years and that was it. My last day was the BEST and the WORST day of my life. Because the family cat, Frisky, who I grew up with my whole life, passed away after I got home from work and Liz from school. That day I had a feeling it was his last day. :'(
At work though, it was nice, one of my co-workers kind of threw me a going away party. I thought that was sweet.
Also, in March (Before I quit my job and my cat Frisky passing) My Sis Lauren went to the Tattoo convention and I got the Baby Phat logo cat minus the name. At the time I didnt think nothing significant of it but now I think I must have got the tattoo because of Frisky. It also symbolized my independence as well as my love for cats.
My 30th Birthday came around in May, my parents were on the road so I ended up having lunch with both my sisters at Olive Garden and I made a very big deal about the Madonna Perfume that came out and their was a misunderstanding and they both bought me a bottle and I LOVED IT! I already used up one bottle.
After a very good and long Summer Liz started 4th grade and turned 9 years old in August. Which was different then when she was in 1st-3rd grade. She is really growing up and fast. I can really tell this year. It makes me kind of sad, because she is my bestfriend and I want to hangout with her mama always. She is also so like me in many ways which I am relieved and worried at the same time. lol! For her birthday we had lunch at Famous Daves and she got a kitten the week before for her birthday (she had been asking for one for a couple of years).
September my mom turned the big 5-0. By October Liz was really into Mermaids and so we were Mermaids for Halloween, although after the Discovery special Mermaids: A Body Found. She no longer wanted to be a mermaid and moved onto genies and started watching I Dream of Jeannie on YouTube.
November I made turkey and had some of the family over for Thanksgiving. Made the bird again all by myself but forgot to take out the baggy of gizzards – Ooops 😉 lol! December we celebrated Xmas on Xmas Eve because we have German in our family and they celebrate on Xmas Eve and mom made homemade Spaetzle with with flour and everything. It was delicious and now I know how to make it homemade myself. Tally got sick, she is a little better but she is really old. Then Liz got sick too and had a fever and cough. We also went over to my sisters house on Christmas Day to eat and watch Xmas movies.
Two days before New Years I learned I was going to become an Aunt! : D (12/30/12)
Today is New Years Eve 12/31/2012 – I am sick and have a headache but going to wash off the sickness, possibly clean and ring in the new year with our New Years hats Liz and I get at Walmart every year and watch the ball drop in New York maybe. Since we never have before.
So we watched the ball drop in NYC on Dick Clarks New Years Eve Special and Liz & I Celebrated for the East Coast. But by the time it was our turn, mountain standard time, she was asleep 10 minutes beforehand.
Anyway I had an crazy 2012! Cant wait to see whats in store for 2013 😉
