How I saved $256 on my bills!
First of all I just wanted to say, I LOVE Negotiating! : D It has helped me in so many ways and benefited both myself and the person I am negotiating with. The last two weeks I have to talk myself out of some very expensive bills!
My first bill is my AT&T bill. I went on a Cruise and used my cell phone for texting and sending pictures in Mexico like a dumbass without signing up for their International plan. So when I got my bill it was $420!! I was shocked and felt like an idiot for using it when I shouldn’t have! Now keep in mind, I work in Customer Service, so I know the process of that as well!
So I called AT&T and spoke to an agent named Samantha. The first words were out of my mouth, I am an idiot and take full responsibility for my stupidity but I cannot pay this, at first it took me a minute to figure out what the bill was for and then remembered I went on my cruise and can you please help me or connect me to your supervisor? Well, she of course was being her friendly customer service self, pulled up my invoice and said well, what I can do is re-rate your invoice as if you had the International Plan at the time of your trip. So she re-rated it and took off $196 in charges!!! I was so thankful! I offered to do anything she wanted like give her a compliment or anything else to help her out in anyway and unfortunately there wasn’t anything that could be done. But I was so grateful! : D
My second example is I have my paypal connected to my other checking account that I hardly use, well I didn’t know I was receiving all these overdraft charges till I got my statement. What had happened was I bought a $6.00 Hannah Montana doll off eBay. I didn’t have any money in my paypal and so it was hitting my checking with no money in it (now I really felt like a dumbass). So my bill was $132 in overdraft charges! : O
So on my last break at work, I went to the bank and told them the same thing I am an idiot I take full responsibility but I cannot pay this. So with this they had to get the manager involved, they removed $60, let me keep my account and make payments on the rest.
So I saved a total of $256.00 between both bills. Really, it pays to ask
Restuarant Review: In n Out Burger

So I took my daughter to see HOP today, and got her some movie popcorn and kids pack. But I decided since we were out and about I wanted to try a new restaurant. So In n Out was built a year ago in West Jordan and I had never tried but I heard from everyone it was just fabulous! So I thought what the hey, lets go. So after I got my baby some ice cream after the movie, on our way home we stopped there.
We went through the drive-thru, the first thing I noticed, especially when driving past it always is the drive-thru is always packed! The second thing I noticed was the small menu they have! I was like wow, okay this will make it easier for me to decide at least LOL!
So I decided on a Cheeseburger combo. I told the lady what I wanted and she asked me two interesting questions…she asked: “Do you want an onion ring” I said of course sounds great on the sandwich and “Are you going to be eating in your car?” I was like WHAT? But I told her yes because that is what I had planned on doing and I didn’t understand why she wanted to make it her business. LOL!
Then I pull up and pay for my food as asked the dude, “Why did she ask me if I was eating in my car?” He said “because if you plan on eating it in your car, they then put it in an open box but if you plan to eat it at home then they just bag it up” I thought great, that was interesting and personalized customer service!
So I get my food and still perplexed at what they said but continued to eat in my car. I was confused about the onion thing though LOL, because I thought they had an actual fried onion ring to be in the sandwich and instead it was just an onion. I laughed to myself but still preferred onion in my sandwich anyway.
The food was good.
A Day in the life of a Customer Service agent
In October 2004, I started my first customer service job as a temp for a big benefits corporation. I did benefits enrollment for them for 6 months and then they had the nerve to not hire me on because of get this, “lack of customer service experience”…fast forward to NOW, with 6+ years in the industry, but for a transportation company. I no longer lack customer service experience! LOL!
I sometimes ask myself why do I continue to do customer service work? People can sometimes be mean and down right condescending! And you have to contain your utmost composure and be the nicest possible. But now I know I think this is the kind of work I need to be doing. Because I just have way too much energy and talk way too much to not be on the phone LOL! I also enjoy turning a pissed off customer into a happy one! I have received candy and BBQ sauce when I worked in the Billing department for making customers happy when I adjusted a charge or just waived a fee. I have received compliments for them appreciating my work and wanting everyone else know too. Plus on top of that, I have always been into Network Marketing which requires you to do some of that type of talking when speaking to prospects.
My favorite customer service job besides what I do now. Is making outbound calls in a sales type self-development industry. I LOVED that job! But the pay and hours sucked! I will forever miss that job. I have had a total of 3 different call center jobs with 3 different companies and worked in 7 different departments. I also have experience in inbound and outbound calling.
This gets more interesting, LOL. I live in Utah! And no I am not a polygamist or LDS. I am actually from Vegas
. Back to Utah, I have read or seen somewhere that UTAH has the most call center/customer service centers or jobs than any other state! I thought that was amusing. Another thing I heard, Utah has the most Network Marketing companies ran out of Utah! Crazy shizz!!! : D I LOVE IT! Speaking of one last thing, I try my hardest not to call customer service, I guess I feel their pain LOL, and I try to solve the issue myself before I call them. So please, be nice to your customer service agent.
