No more Food Pyramid? My Plate?

No More Food Pyramid: Nutritional Icon Is Now a Plate

So a few days ago, I learned that we no longer have the food pyramid but a food plate? I was confused? So today I finally looked at it, and I do think this is a lot more easier to understand then the food pyramid. Which is more fruits/vegetables and grains, less protein and less dairy.

My “diet” right now is more veggies (salads) and protein (chicken). I have been drinking less milk but not intentionally. I LOVE MILK! : D I still eat my usual Subway, Little Caesars, spaghetti, fried chicken, : D I also quit drinking soda which the food plate suggests less sugary sodas. Right now I have lost so far 3.5lbs and not stopping! : D

So I say with my plate, go with it! : D

Food Review: Arby’s Chicken Salad wrap!

Arby’s brought back (I believe) their Arby’s Grilled Chicken and Pecan salad wrap/sandwich/salad. It is filled with grilled chicken, diced red apples, pecans, celery, lettuce and red grapes inside of a whole wheat flat bread wrap.

With this promotion, came a coupon ;) . Buy a drink, get the wrap FREE. So I was all over it. My first thought before purchase is it reminded me of the Subway version called Orchard Chicken Salad sandwich, which I have had before with almost the same ingredients. My second thought is its Healthy! I am on a healthy kick. I also love wraps!

So I took a bite, half the wrap was with lots of lettuce (and not the crappy lettuce neither) the good pure green crisp lettuce. The other half of course had all the rest of the ingredients. Very good indeed! Would I get it again? Of course! It was also a big size wrap. Nothing puny about it! I had to save the rest for later. So I refrigerated it. :)

Subway – I LOVE Subway! : D

First of all, I have to say Subway is my FAVORITE Fast food restuarant, if you would call it that because they are sub sandwiches and a bit healthier. Before, I ate Subway so much I used to just get the Cold Cut Trio & split it with my brother when I was younger. A few years ago, when I joined Curves and had time in between my job, I used to workout at Curves, and at a recommendation of a friend tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch. But mine was not just any Chicken Bacon Ranch, it had to be extra special LOL ;) I make it with extra shredded cheese, toasted on Italian Herb & Cheese bread, with tomatoes, extra onions, extra jalapenos (I LOVE Spicy food!) and extra ranch & othher course salt/pepper. That is what I have been eating ever since.

I try to keep up with all the Subway promotions, their point system and anything that they are doing. What I would like to do because I like to try new things but get into routine at the same time, is well try all the sandwiches on their menu and also makeup my own ;)

So, if you are looking for a sandwich, I recommend Subway. I Love them! I have written them a couple of times, although I am no Jared ;) LOL. I eat because I like to eat and I like to indulge in what I like. I am on no diet. But that is what makes Subway so great! : D
